I can definitely do a long flight without uttering a word to my neighbour, but at the same time, if I do get drawn into a conversation with someone I can be happy with that, too. Depending on my mood. I think people close to me have learned to read my signals. Okay, it's probably not that hard. Get a grunt or a sneer, it's the non-talking me that day. If I have to pick one, I guess I’m a talker… but like you I need my space at times, and I’m not sure I could be an innkeeper or work in a job that requires being nice to people, especially first thing in the morning.
