When I was younger I was so self-disciplined it was scary. Well, it scared my mother. Now……….. I’m so pathetic it’s not funny.
For example:
Chocolate Biscuit Cake. Doesn’t it look yummy. It is. I only make it at Christmas, for obvious reasons (like, if I didn’t I’d need elastic waistbands on all my clothes). So, I made this year’s Christmas batch and put it in the freezer, with just a small piece of tape on each end. Sufficient, I thought, to stop me sneaking a piece out and zapping it in the microwave. WRONG!! There’s only half left. I can’t believe it. Now I’ve taped it so much it will take a week to open it, and I’ve hidden it in the motel freezer under loaves of bread. Surely that will be enough to deter me!!!! I’m not making mince pies until very close to Christmas.
Another example of my failing will power…..I’m trying to do weight watchers points at the moment, in anticipation of my visit to the UK in May, so everyone can say how good I look. HAHAHAHAHA I do well for a few weeks then I get into sabotage mode. This week I put on 4 pounds. Started again two days ago, lasted one day and then suddenly at about 10pm last night I found myself eating a bag of chips… WTF.
Writing…. I have a fabulous new idea. I’ve saved about 50 pages of research that I’ve downloaded from the net to help me plan it, so what am I doing…. blogging, surfing, even motel stuff that could wait. WHY???
All helpful suggestions gratefully received.

I have no words of wisdom to share– wish I did- but it would be like the blind leading the blind!
Yay on the new idea though– get to writing, woman!!

I’ve put on 30 pounds since this past May and all I could think when I read your post was “where’s the recipe for the chocolate biscuit cake?” So, I’m thinking I might not be the best one to give advice.
natalie hatch Says:
Hi Sara, I’m sooo with you on this. I used to have such amazing will power. And now… well we don’t need to go there. I’ve lost 30 kgs but have about ten to go that just won’t shift.
Sara Hantz Says:
HAHAHAHA, Alyson…. I’m writing…. ok I’m blogging…
Laura, just email me if you’d like the recipe, it tastes better, even than it looks.
So, Natalie are we saying it’s an age thing??????
amanda ashby Says:
As you well know, I’ve never had any will power whatsoever. But I do like chocolate biscuit cake, so here is a solution. You just give it all to me and your problem will be solved. Simple!
Sara Hantz Says:
Hey, Amanda, that’s an awesome idea. I’ll leave it to you to tell the family, ok???
Christina Phillips Says:
I love the sound of your chocolate biscuit cake too, but do you really cook your own mince pies as well??? What about Mr Kipling??? (so much easier!!)
As for the writing, ummm … what’s that… I think procrastinating must be catching…
Laura Says:
I would like that recipe – but um, I can’t find your email address.
Keri Mikulski Says:
I feel for you.. I’m there with the new idea right now and looking at handbags on Ebay instead of writing.
Good luck!
Sara Hantz Says:
Christina…. Mr Kipling isn’t dairy free!!!! And in NZ I can’t even get dairy free pastry so have to make my own… now that really is over and above the call of duty.
Laura contact me through the contact link above on the tool bar.
Laura Says:
I tried that – maybe I’m missing something but I couldn’t figure out how to send you something from the link on the tool bar.
Sara Hantz Says:
You’re right, I’ll get onto my web person. Thanks!!
Vanessa Says:
Oh, Sara, I’m terribly low in will power too. Our boss supplies free chocolate cookies to help us get through the day. I’ve now decided I’ll go for a five-minute walk around the block whenever I get the urge to raid the kitchen.
Sara Hantz Says:
Wow, Vanessa…. that’s very impressive!!
