I came across a review of The Second Virginity of Suzy Green today…. don’t you just love google alerts! It’s on Hope’s Bookshelf (thanks Hope).
I’m going back to exercise class today. I had a week off (due to some minor surgery, which is perfectly ok) so I’m imagining how much my muscles are going to ache tomorrow. Not that I’ll let that deter me. Toning the wobbly arms and thighs take precedence. Though, if I said I was a reluctant exerciser that would be an understatement. I know I have to do it and it’s good for me blah, blah, but where’s this endorphin rush everyone talks about? Why do I always leave on a Thursday and think hurray I don’t have to go again until Tuesday?
And while I’m on the subject of things I don’t get, let’s talk about cooking!!! I do it because I have to. We’ve got to eat. But it’s not fun. I know people who spend hours and hours cooking the most amazing dishes and then they’re eaten in 5 minutes, probably forgotten very quickly and all that’s left is loads of dirty dishes (ok so the plus side is you can put the dishwasher on, which is cool).
So, why do it… when you could spend the time watching Mamma Mia or Love Actually on DVD… or writing…. or watching TV… or going out to the movies… or walking on the beach…. or reading…..
Okay, I’m done with being philosophical I’m off to bake some muffins to take to exercise class….

Glad you’re feeling better after surgery!!
Laura Says:
Hmmm, guess you missed my blog post about how I almost burnt my house down hard boiling eggs.
Sara Hantz Says:
OMG, Laura….. so you’re big on cooking then
Christina Phillips Says:
Hooray on Hope’s review for our Suzy!
and omg hahaha on the exercise lark. I’m with you there. I do it because I have to and all I feel at the end of it is sweaty and worn out. Then again when I don’t do it (and this my third week!!!) I feel like The Blob.
And *ahem* yeah again on the cooking. On the odd occasion I do try anything out of the ordinary, my family look at it (and me) as if aliens have landed!!!
Sara Hantz Says:
I’m glad it’s not just me with the exercise thing, Christina!
LaShaunda Says:
Hi Sara,
Thanks for stopping by SORMAG. I just blogged about finding my desire to cook again. I felt like you for a long time.
The holidays has made me want to cook more.

Sara Hantz Says:
Hey LaShaunda, there’s hope for me yet, then, on the cooking front. good to see you here!
Alyssa Goodnight Says:
I don’t do it much, but I’d have to say because it lets you try things that may not otherwise be easily available. (That’s why I sew too).
Glad you’re doing fine.
Sara Hantz Says:
Good point, Alyssa!
