We all love a good party…………… and I have news of one that’s going to rock the blogosphere. Next week the fabulous author Linda Gerber (who is also one of the TFCers) is having a launch party for her new book Death By Latte (what a title… cracks me up everytime I see it) and there are 19 YA authors taking part (including me….. like, keep me away) and there are loads of prizes up for grabs every day.
So, make sure you hop over there…. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!
Well…. what else has been happening in Sara’s world….. hahahahaha it makes me laugh when people talk of themselves in the third person….. anyway, four more sleeps until we go away…. all I want to do is walk, eat, read and NOT TALK (apart from to my partner, if he’s lucky). Working in a motel not only means we’re on call from the time we get up (5.45am until we go to bed 11pm) but we have to be nice to everyone ALL THE TIME. Don’t get me wrong… I don’t want to be mean (my cancerian/eldest child need to be liked won’t allow me to) but some people can be very demanding, and an undisturbed meal/TV show would be most welcome!
On the writing front…… I’m seriously writing up a storm… well in my head I am…. actually I’ve been a bit lazy, though I am working on a couple of proposals… I can’t do anything today because I’ve got to go to the hairdressers shortly and Amanda has recommend I watch a movie called Sixteen Candles to help with my new outline, and lucky for me the DVD hire shop had a copy. And now she’s just emailed me to say that I should be watching Pretty in Pink!!!!
Natalie Hatch Says:
Sara Pretty in Pink is great, so’s Sixteen Candles, and the ultimate Breakfast Club, John Hughes was extraordinary in the eighties… I wonder why he stopped.
I still think Ducky should have ended up with Claire in Pretty, but ah well….
Christina Phillips Says:
only four days! wow that’s flown by. Enjoy your dvd viewing, and after all it’s research so you don’t have to feel guilty about not writing!!!! (I’m doing loads of writing too in my head – it’s an nice place to be isn’t it…?)
Alyson Noel Says:
LOVE Pretty in Pink! I’ve seen it more times than I can count! Sixteen Candles is good too–that Amanda has good taste in movies!
I used to work in a hotel in Greece– I know just what you mean about long hours and demanding people!
sara hantz Says:
Loved Sixteen Candles. Going to see if I can get Pretty in Pink out today…. I’m sure I’ve seen it…. I just have a pretty hopeless memory…..
Keri Mikulski Says:

amanda ashby Says:
See Sara, I told you that John Hughes movies rock!!!!! And when you get back from holiday I’m so lending you Adventures in Babysitting/Night on the Town because that is also fantastic!!!!
Nell Dixon Says:
I LOVE Pretty in Pink!
Shelley Munro Says:
Hi Sara – just stopping by to say hi but you’re probably away. Have a fun time.
Death By Latte is a great title. Very intriguing. I’m going to have to check it out.
Vanessa Says:
Ohh, Sixteen Candles is one of my fave ’80s movies! The scene where the geek gets stuck inside a glass table cracks me up. A while ago I heard talk of a sequel called Thirty-Two Candles–I hope that wish comes true.
