A review of Suzy from Enchanting Reviews
And an interview with me. I’m really pleased that Suzy has been awarded 4 enchantments. It will also feature on their website
The other thing I want to mention is this problem I seem to be having. As I’ve always said, I write ‘normal’ and have no inclination to write paranormal. Well….. either I’m undergoing something sinister inside, or I’ve been spending too much time with my CP Amanda Ashby (who, btw, has such a weird imagination I swear she put the para in paranormal!!). Anyway, I digress…. suddenly I’m cominig up with ideas for her latest book…. like seriously weird and inventive ideas…… I think I need to lie down in a darkened room!!
Other news….. I’ve got a fab idea for a new YA and the MG I’m working on is all coming together…. so all’s sweet in the writing world….

My crushes over the years have been few and far between. But suddenly I’ve developed a major one. I know I’m coming late to this party…. but now I know he can sing….. and his English accents are to die for:
Yes….. you’ve guessed it… it’s Johnny Depp. Isn’t he gorgeous?
And only recently I watched Finding Neverland and loved it. His accent was perfect. Understated and totally believable
And I’m seriously hanging out to see Sweeney Todd. I’ve seen excerpts and he is amazing. And I love his singing voice.
So what about you, am I alone in my crush????

Yesterday I went to the movies and laughed and laughed until tears were streaming down my face…… I couldn’t contain myself.
And the movie…… Death at a Funeral! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny. It’s very British and has a cast of famous actors. The lead is Mathew Macfadyen (Darcy in Pride and Prejudice) and his timing was perfect. For me, the guy who stole the show was Alan Tudyk (remember him from 28 Days with Sandra Bullock).
For those of you who don’t know the story, I took this from Cinemablend.com:
As the title suggests, the film takes place mostly at a funeral, beginning with the arrival of family and friends and ending when the whole horrid, doomed to be botched affair is finished. Things go pretty badly from the start, with each family member dragging his or her own baggage to the thing, some spoiling for a fight. It goes from bad to worse when the sons of the deceased, Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) and Robert (Rupert Graves), discover that their dead father has a dark secret which may or may not involve a midget (Peter Dinklage). Things fall completely to pieces when said small-statured sleazeball shows up at the funeral to blackmail them into keeping his mouth shut.
It’s only just been released in NZ though I understand it was released in August in the US. Not sure about the UK. Anyway, I’m definitely going to see it again. Anything that makes me laugh so much has got to be worth a second look (and third, fourth, fifth…..).

I don’t usually blog about things that happen at our motel, mainly because they’re either not very interesting or they’re x rated!! However, this was so out there I felt the need to share.
Staying in one of our bigger units are some young golfers (with one of their fathers, to keep them all in check), who’ve entered a big under 23s competition at a course close by.
Anyway, the day before yesterday one of the boys (who wasn’t playing too well) decided he was going to practise his swing. Good idea????? Well that depends on where you’re swinging. He wanted to be able to see himself, so instead of going out into the courtyard and practising in front of his apartment window, he took the more inventive option. He decided to go into the bathroom and practise in front of the mirror. And…….. guess what…… he swung, and smashed the toilet. AARRRGGGHHHH.
And to top it all the plumber couldn’t get a replacement straight away, so we’ve had to move the one from our house into their unit (our downstairs toilet, we do still have one upstair!!). The only trouble is they’re not meant to use it for 24 hours, so at the moment they have a key for the unit next door. And let’s not even think about the fact we need this other unit for customers later today!!
They do say a moteliers life is never dull!!!!
Other news…… I’m blogging at Teen Fiction Cafe this week, the topic is music and so I confess my addiction to musicals…
What else…. I’ve had an ah ha moment with my current manuscript and am happy it’s now heading in the right direction. I’ve also updated my books page with the latest reviews for Suzy.

So here we are, a brand new year and some brand new resolutions…. what? you remember that I said I wasn’t going to make any…. hahahahaha… well, I am, just not so many or in such a regimented fashion (I’ll beat that anal tendancy if it kills me… apart from list writing, which I love).
But first…. I’m going to try an experiment. My friend Amanda Ashby has this theory that if you mention the words naked and David Boreanaz in a post your blog hits will go through the roof….. so, I’ve done it…. and will report back!!
Back to resolutions….. this year my main one is to become more disciplined in my writing (did you hear that witches???). I’m going to write three books - two young adult and one middle grade. I’m also going to have a positive outlook on everything (ok… I’m an optimist, so this one’s not too hard… even so, there are times….). And I’m going to blog more too.
And now…. seeing as this post is all about ME…. because I was a featured author on Aussie Authors during 2007, I’m eligible to be Aussie Author of the year…. soooooooooo, I’d love for you to vote for me at Aussie Authors
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all. May 2008 be even better than you dreamed!!!!!
